This has enabled us to innovate, design, and execute variety of projects. We have a strong team of highly motivated professionals consisting of biochemists, microbiologists, and chemical engineers with expertise in the fields of fermentation and process engineering.

Microcore envisions numerous opportunities in India for the conversion of waste from agro processing, egg processing, and aqua processing industries to wealth.

As of yet, we have successfully developed effective technologies for making insoluble dietary fibers; microcrystalline cellulose, crystalline ovalbumin gel, aquatic feed, pet food and organic fertilizer (fish protein hydrolysate). All of these technologies are/have been validated and optimized in the pilot plant facility.

Our vision for the future is towards developing high quality and cost-effective solutions for the conversion of wastes from various industries into high value products with potential applications in food and pharmaceuticals. We also nurture a vision to discover new molecules that can be used to cure obesity and cancer.

Agro processing - Waste to wealth

India is the fifth largest legume produced in the world. India has been one of the leading producers of Bengal gram for several decades, accounting for nearly 68.13 % of the world production. Tamil Nadu is one of the largest dhal processing states with the dhal processing facility that ranges from cottage industries to state of Art and modernized manufacturing plants 10,000 to 1, 00,000 tons/anum of Bengal gram. These dhal processing industries accumulate huge quantity of Bengal gram husk.

High fibers diets have been reported to reduce risk of colon and rectal cancers, blood serum cholesterol levels and serum cholesterol. Currently, work on improving various functional properties that can increase insulin secretion, regulate hormone secretions, regulate cholesterol synthesis, bulking stomach, anti obesity are in progress. Microcore identified that the true potential of the husk of Bengal gram contains essential non-glycemic, dietary cellulose fibers, which can be used in daily diet to control obesity. We developed a process and patented the technology for the converting husk of Bengal gram to insoluble dietary fibers and micro-crystalline dietary cellulose. At present we are in the process of designing a pilot scale facility for producing these fibers.

With our consultancy service, we have opened up the opportunity to provide services to our clients in various areas of agro-processing. We have contributed towards designing a processes and products from agro-wastes to our clients. In addition, we have been able to successfully translate this experience to service our clients in aqua processing and egg processing industries.
